250 km from Rio and 100 km from Angra dos Reis is Paraty. The town is a gem and is a protected monument. It is one of the best-preserved colonial cities in Brazil: stately homes, Baroque churches, cobbled streets and the Forte Defensor Perpetua are part of the idyllic environment. Paraty is also the starting point for excursions in one of the most beautiful coastal regions. Nearby are dozens of little affected beaches and islands, which are easily accessible by boat.

Day 1: Transfer Rio de Janeiro – Paraty – City Tour Paraty

Morning: Individual arrival from Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo to Paraty. Afternoon: Walking City Tour (3 hours), historical center and a visit to the defense fort «Perpetual» The historic center of Paraty is a harmonious ensemble of colonial architecture. The walk gives you historical, artistic, architectural and cultural information. The city of Paraty is now a national historical monument and a candidate for world cultural heritage and, moreover, a natural heritage that accounts for 65% of the municipal area of the «Serra da Bocaina» National Park. Irregular sidewalks, thickly decorated walls, colonial townhouses with wrought-iron balconies and the Masonic culture easily lead us back to the colonial era. The City Tour is a pleasant walk accompanied by an experienced English-speaking guide who takes the participants on a journey through time! Overnight in the chosen pousada

Day 2: Schooner trip (5 hours) green-blue sea – bays – islands – beaches

Discover the beautiful bay of Paraty with comfort and safety on board our schooner Neptune. Visit the most beautiful beaches and islands with crystal clear water, ideal for swimming and snorkeling (optional). The schooner ride in Paraty is ideal for those who want to get to know the most famous sights of this region, a must! You visit the two beaches “Praia da Lula” “Praia Vermelha” and two islands, among others the “Ilha Comprida” and the blue laguna “Lagoa Azul” where each stop for 30 to 40 minutes to relax, swim, snorkel or just enjoy the beach or lunch on board the ship.

Day 3: Jeep tour (6 hours) “Serra Bocaina” National Park – waterfalls – Cachaça distillery

Today you drive in jeeps into the mountainous outback in the national park «Serra Bocaina», to some waterfalls, enjoy nature and get to know a part of the regional culture and history of Paraty in this wonderful national park. The route leads along beautiful waterfalls that can be reached via small, safe and marked hiking trails. You will also visit a liqueur distillery where the famous cachaça (basic ingredient for the caipirinha) is made from sugar cane. Tasting of various aged liqueurs. Lunch in the excellent Villa Verde restaurant.

Day 4: Paraty – Rio de Janeiro
