The Amazon

The Rio Negro dark brown, almost black and the Rio Solimões brighter flow next to each other over a length of about six kilometers without mixing. Different temperatures and different flow velocities create this fascinating phenomenon. Only about ten kilometers downstream, the two rivers melt into the Amazon. Manaus

Rio Negro
